The Minister said that the cleanliness situation is totally unsatisfactory despite spending billions of rupees on this project. He added that the people have not seen a change for which they have given the mandate to the PTI.
He promised to raise salaries of zonal officers if they improve their performance. Meanwhile, while talking to media he said that the Orange Line Train is a white elephant and thus it is unfeasible to operate it. While referring to the Nawaz family, he sarcastically said that the 'royals' wasted billions of rupees on projects for heavy commission and cheep publicity. He observed that a hospital like Shaukat Khanum can be built with a cost of Rs4 billion, the previous government misspent billions of rupees on an unwanted project.
The Minister averred that every public company tells a story of corruption and from now on this will not be tolerated, and added that they are investigating different projects.
In a response to a question, he blamed the previous government for bankrupting Punjab and to deal with the situation they have shrank the Annual Developmental Programme. He said that soon they will introduce 'the best local body system' in Punjab that will benefit rural and urban areas equally. "At present, legal points of the bill are being reviewed," he added.
